ALEX KING

Alex King, Founder, Archetype Legal

Alex King advises companies, investors, and individuals on a wide range of business transactions. Alex represents clients across a broad spectrum of industries including tech and internet, food and beverage, product, consulting and general service firms, often serving as their outside general counsel. His practice focuses on corporate and partnership law with experience in issues of structure and organization, raising capital and financing due diligence, securities and equity compensation, ongoing corporate compliance, and joint ventures.

Alex is a Business Advisor for Pacific Community Ventures, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting small business growth and job creation in low income communities.

Alex received his JD from Golden Gate University School of Law, and his MBA from Golden Gate’s Ageno School of Business. Currently, Alex is working towards his LLM in taxation from Golden Gate as well. When he’s not practicing law Alex enjoys crime novels, golf and wearing inviting plaid.


ALEXIS DEBOSE

Alexis received her J.D. from Golden Gate University, School of Law, and is licensed to practice in California. Alexis developed and sharpened her legal skill set through her experiences interning for the Women’s Employment Rights Clinic, externing for the Honorable Steven B. Berlin at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges, and working for two Oakland based employment and general litigation firms. Alexis is incredibly proud of serving as Vice President of the Labor and Employment Law Association and as Co-Chair of Pride Law. She also had the unique honor of serving as Bridge Fellow to the Honorable Garrett L. Wong, Presiding Judge in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco.

Alexis DeBose, Archetype Legal

for Individual Freedom (BALIF), and the National Bar Association (NBA). In her spare time, Alexis can be found discovering (and enjoying) all things coffee, supporting her favorite sports teams (Seattle Storm, OL Reign, and the Duke Blue Devils), and perfecting her macaron and focaccia recipes!


LUTHIEN NILAND

Luthien Niland advises small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs in industries ranging from software development to food and beverage to cannabis ventures to construction. She especially likes enjoying the fruits of her clients’ hard work by visiting their restaurants, wine shops, or retail stores, while also appreciating less tangible results by downloading their apps or learning about the stem cell libraries that they build. Luthien counsels her clients in matters related to strategic entity formation, negotiating and drafting contracts, raising investment capital (especially for software start-ups, restaurants, bars, and breweries), hiring employees, non-profit compliance, partnership agreements, and other matters for an outside general counsel.

Luthien earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in California and Wisconsin. After 10 years in the Bay Area, Luthien now spends her summers swimming and canoeing in the fresh water around Madison, Wisconsin and her winters enjoying the restaurants and hiking of the Bay Area.


AARON JACKSON

Aaron is a seasoned corporate lawyer who provides practical and innovative solutions to seemingly complex legal and business problems. Since his days as outside general counsel to the largest private and municipal corporations doing business in the Western Pacific, including the Underwriters at Lloyd's, A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, TakeCare Insurance Company and the United Services Automobile Association, he has helped numerous entrepreneurs and companies in and around the Bay Area start, grow and exit with his helpful and insightful counseling.

Aaron focuses on representing and advising businesses in strategic entity formation, commercial transactions, founder disputes, merger and acquisition transactions,

commercial leasing representation, risk management and business disputes. He also works closely with entrepreneurs to protect their personal assets with premarital agreements.

After graduating cum laude from California Western School of Law, Aaron began his legal career with a judicial clerkship under the Honorable Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson in the Superior Court of Guam. When he is not practicing law, Aaron enjoys sailing, reading, surfing and practicing yoga.

Aaron serves as of counsel to the Archetype team.


DREW AMOROSO

Drew is of counsel to the firm and advises startup clients primarily in the fitness, health and wellness industries.

Drew graduated from UC Davis School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. He’s now the CEO of Move Associates, a company that helps law firms train their associates to achieve their productivity and development goals, the President of the Barristers Club at the Bar Association of San Francisco and a Visiting Lecturer at UC Davis School of Law and Golden Gate University School of Law, where he teaches a Practice Ready Seminar designed to prepare law students to make the transition from students to lawyers who are ready to practice. 

If Drew weren't a lawyer, his dream job would be to lead excursions around remote islands in the Pacific. On a weekend mornings, you can find him enjoying a big plate of eggs, bacon and coffee on his rooftop patio. 


CHASE SPENST

As the outside CFO for Archetype and founder of Ground Control, Chase has spent the last 15 years in a variety of roles focused on building, growing, and scaling businesses of all sizes. His ability to identify unique opportunity is matched with his ability to map a path to get there, which has shaped his career, not just as a financial strategist but also as an entrepreneur himself.

In his spare time, you’ll find Chase building predictive models for his fantasy baseball team and creating a definitive guide for how to watch the Marvel movies based on what part of the experience is most important to you.


MEGHAN MARSH KING

With a background in writing, marketing, and consumer experience for a range of diverse companies, Meghan is our resident brand strategist and founder of MMK Creative. Her desire to tell stories and solve problems with artistry gives her a dynamic combination of creative, practical, and analytic skills that lend themselves to creating lasting experiences—both on and off the page.

Meghan lives for a good book, an artful presentation, discovering new places, and quiet mornings in the garden with her two year old son Wallace.
